Since opening balance in 2017, we have been preparing locally sourced, tasty, balanced foods for a growing number of devoted diners, 7 days a week.

Here to serve

Balance has become a destination for coffee and smoothie lovers, for vegetarians, vegans and anyone else in search of flavoursome food to eat in or takeaway.

Balance will also provide platters of our signature salads and mains to feed staff, clients and family.

Catering roots

As a second-generation restaurateur, founder and owner, Gengiz Arif, cares about delivering great wholesome food. He grew up working in his fatherโ€™s restaurants, learning all he could in order to achieve his ambition of opening his own restaurants.

Kitchen balance

Today, our kitchens are run by Head Chef Easwaran, who was trained by Michel Roux Jr (one of a handful of two-star Michelin chefs in Britain today), which means that every dish blends creativity with artisan care.

But importantly at Balance Easwaran and Gengiz work together to provide food that has health and taste as a fundamental aspect of its menu.

Barista brilliance

Just like wine accompanies dining in some restaurants, a good coffee is the accompaniment to our foods. Our qualified baristas use a blend of beans selected from crops grown in El Salvador, Nicaragua, Colombia and Brazil by specialist coffee roasters Origin to serve you a perfect cup to accompany any meal, snack or excuse for a chat.

Everyoneโ€™s welcome

Come and visit us on Lower Marsh in SE1, sample our salads and mains and treat yourself to a slice of homemade cake on your way out. Our service is swift, our staff are friendly and weโ€™re always happy to welcome new guests to the balance experience.
